this might not sound like a legit reason to eat dessert. but your mental state is important. i mean come on! how happy are you after a bite of chocolate? i’m sure you have a huge smile on your face!

Desserts containing a high concentration of carbohydrates make the brain produce more chemicals, including serotonin, which improves the overall well-being of an individual. even the smell can boost your mood.

they remedy the negative effects of dieting

Dieting can often leads to lower levels of energy due to sudden decrease of sugar and carbohydrates. The lack of glucose in the body can make you feel sluggish and tired, leading to decreased productivity & less energy.

the consumption of an occasional treat can help you maintain a well balance diet without sacrificing your mood or depriving yourself.

studies show that people who treat themselves on occasion vs people that skip dessert for dieting reasons, maintain a healthier weight year round. this is true because more often than not, dieters withhold from a sweet treat for so long, that this behavior can lead to binge eating or consistant over eating.
